david left on the 23rd for windsor where he spends christmas with his family. since he wasn't going to be around on christmas morning, he opened his stocking and gift from my parents on the 22nd:

i travelled by train to windsor on boxing day where i stayed until the 30th. david's brother aaron has his birthday on the 26th, so his family makes that the really big day for his family at christmas. they celebrate with a HUGE meal [they're italian] and just about everyone - relatives, friends, etc. - are invited.
