make the crazy stop.

i am exhausted. i feel i'm losing my marbles. i've been trying desperately to write my teacher's college application for the past 4 hours and it's coming out all wrong. it's so frustrating because i've had everything [experiences, skills, etc.] grouped nicely in my head for the past month; but now that it's time to actually put them on paper, they resemble nothing short of a big garbled mess. it's my own fault, really. i should have written the applications on my week off, but procrastination knows my worst weaknesses, so here i sit. they must be submitted no later than december 1st at 4:30pm. i know i'll get them there in time, but it's the fact that i've yet again waited until the last minute to act on something i've known about for ages is what has me so upset. i need to get out of this cursed laziness routine. i have my opening statements typed up, and i feel pretty good about them, so i think it might be best for me to put the rest away and tackle it anew tomorrow. there's no point in beating a dead horse :/

on the sunnier side of the street: i got the job at the art supply store. i'm excited to be starting something new, but i'm still nervous as heck. there's little else that makes me more uncomfortable than being the "new" person. i'm really very shy by nature and i loathe being at the bottom of the ladder, looking up. i'm not so good at looking comfortable as an outsider anymore; i find i fidget a lot.

anyhow, that's still good news. i start monday so i still have a couple of days to get over my anxiety. all of this will go away once i get these darned applications in and i settle in at the new job. i'm also planning to contact my old elementary school next week to see if they're accepting part-time teaching volunteers. i know my teacher's college applications are a long-shot because i have zero in-class teaching experience, but i have faith somehow that my honesty and determination will somehow shine through my words and i'll be accepted. if not, then it's volunteer hours for me and more poopy retail work. i'll apply again for the following year of course, but i'm still going to remain stubbornly hopeful. what can i say? i'm a saggitarius.

Congratulations on the new job, Gilian, and good luck with the application. :)
